Thursday, October 15th 2020, 6:20 pm - No hockey players were on the ice and the driver was uninjured.
It's not the kind of thing that bodes well for the early stages of hockey season, though it certainly doesn't look out of place in 2020.
An ice resurfacing machine burst into flames while on the ice at a rink in the Rochester, New York, area on Wednesday night. You can see the moment the flames flare up in the video above.
With astonishing presence of mind, the driver of the vehicle didn't immediately bail, but actually dashed it off the rink while the flames were burning beside him. The fire was extinguished soon after.

There were no hockey players on the ice at the time of the incident and the driver, who broadcaster WHAM says was a staff member at the rink, was not injuried, and moved the vehicle off the ice for fear of a propane explosion.
The rink's management said the fire was started when hydraulic fluid from a broken hose ignited after dripping onto the vehicle's motor and exhaust pipe.
