Wednesday, April 1st 2020, 12:31 pm - Wednesday night's routine 'cheer' for healthcare workers looked slightly different than usual across parts of the Lower Mainland.
For more than a week, the City of Vancouver and surrounding communities have been honouring healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic — from landmarks flashing lights and honking horns, to community members at home cheering from their windows.
Participants of Wednesday evening's daily cheer for healthcare workers were greeted with a bit of a weather spectacle when a spring storm brought snow, hail, thunder, and lightning to parts of the province.

The active weather didn't stop community members from joining the cheer, and many stepped outside just long enough to capture moments of hail and snow.
