Tuesday, May 11th 2021, 11:55 am - Seasonal temperatures and some good doses of sunshine will finally make for some good riding conditions across the GTA.
Cyclists will soon be able to ditch the leg-warmers and cycling gloves later this week, but a bumpy and windy commute is in store on Tuesday.
Once again, frost and freezing temperatures just outside of urban areas early Tuesday, with temperatures remaining in the single digits for most areas. Be aware of the nasty headwind for those travelling west on Tuesday, with winds gusting close to 50 km/h – and a threat of brief, heavier showers later Tuesday afternoon. For those hitting the roads early Wednesday morning, the ground might be a little greasy in spots for sections that see isolated showers on Tuesday.
Wednesday features diminishing winds blowing out of the north, and the remainder of the week features climbing temperatures to near 20°C inland by Friday, with seasonal temperatures featuring good doses of sunshine on tap throughout next weekend.
Early #ActiveTO forecast suggests mostly dry conditions - a welcome scene with 6 km of Lakeshore West opening up between Windermere and Stadium Road to active, non-motorized transportation.
