Fishing shack swept away as Dorian hits Atlantic Canada

Sunday, September 8th 2019, 2:22 pm - Weather Network viewer Glenn Falconer captured the moment in Herring Cove, Nova Scotia.

Hurricane Dorian made landfall in parts of Nova Scotia yesterday, bringing severe winds and excessive rainfall along with it.

Powerful wind gusts exceeded 100 km/h, and nearly half-a-million customers in the Maritimes were without power.

While there were no reported deaths or injuries, multiple trees were uprooted, and a large construction crane collapsed onto the side of a building in Halifax.

The wreckage Dorian left in its path included a fishing shack being upheaved out of the concrete into flooded waters.

Weather Network viewer Glenn Falconer captured the moment in Herring Cove, Nova Scotia on Sept. 7.

It was allegedly one of several fishing shacks in Herring Cove, off Government Wharf Road, that was seen floating around in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.
