Friday, August 23rd 2019, 3:15 pm - The employee was lifted several metres into the air
The gusting winds that began blowing through Clemson, South Carolina were so loud that Zach Balogh started filming the commotion from inside his apartment.
As Balogh was recording, the employees at The Esso Club restaurant across the street were scrambling to secure a large tent that was lifting into the air.
Seconds into Balogh's video, two employees were swept off of their feet while they were holding on to the tent.
The video shows one girl being dragged several metres in the air before an airborne table slammed into her and knocked her back to the ground.
Another employee, Samuel Foster, was lifted well above the nearby rooftops and was thrown onto the side of a building. Foster hit the gutter on the roof and landed hard on the ground.
"All our stuff is getting blown away and I'm trying to save all the work that we had put into it. It took a second for it to register," said Foster to local reporters.
Emergency services responded to the scene and while Foster was able to walk away from the area, he did need stitches above his left eye from where his head slammed the gutter.
