Barbed wire disguised as a twig found on popular bike trail

San Diego mountain bikers are warning the public after an intentionally-set trap was found on a popular hiking trail.

The trap was seen in San Dieguito river park and consisted of a strand of rusty barbed wire disguised to look like a twig.

Photos posted to Facebook by the San Diego Mountain Biking Association show the trap hanging just below handle-bar level on the trail.
There have been no reports of any injuries associated with the trap.
Local authorities are investigating.
