Sunday, September 27th 2020, 4:32 pm - After the kitten was taken to an animal shelter for care, the North Valley Animal Disaster Group appropriately named it Baby Yoda.
The Force was certainly strong with California firefighters on Sept. 20.
A newborn kitten, estimated to be 2-3 weeks old, which bares a striking resemblance to the Baby Yoda character from The Mandalorian TV series, was found in the middle of the road while crews battled the North Complex Fire in northern California.
The young feline was covered in smoke and ash when found, so it was immediately taken to the Cal Oak Animal Shelter and examined by a veterinarian, according to a Facebook post from the North Valley Animal Disaster Group.
Naturally, the group named her Baby Yoda.
"As of last night, her foster has said she is doing great," Norm Rosene, the group's vice-president, told CNN. "Baby Yoda will have no problem finding a home."

With big ears, circular eyes and her button nose, Baby Yoda bares an uncanny resemblance to the "Star Wars"-based character. Rosene stated the organization has received tons of requests from people interested in adopting her.
Baby Yoda is currently in the care of a medical foster care provider until she is ready to be adopted.
