Summer is on its way, and with that in mind, many are planning on spending plenty of time on the water. But there are three things to remember before you make the trek.
Mia Gordon, a reporter at The Weather Network, says it's essential to keep safety in mind and people should follow the three T's before heading out on the water: Trip planning, training and taking the essentials.
"Once you have your plan, you should share it with a trusted emergency contact," said Gordon. "And once you are out on the water, there are some things to keep in mind that can help reduce the risk of an accident."
