Hwy. 401 east of Toronto re-opens after pile-up
NOTE: Video filmed earlier Tuesday, during highway closure
Highway 401 between Toronto and Kingston were closed in several spots Tuesday afternoon for about five hours amid intense snow squalls left zero visiblity conditions.
Initial reports suggested more than 20 vehicles were involved in the largest collision, which sparked the closure of the 401 at County Road 25, near Colborne.
There are no reported injuries.

An emergency detour route was put in place as officials worked to reopen the stretch of the highway:

Weather Network presenter Emily Vukovic was en route from Ottawa to Toronto with her family when the collision forced the closure, leaving her car stuck in the back up.
SNOW SQUALLS REDUCED VISIBILITY
Fierce squalls off of Lake Ontario resulted in visibility of less than one quarter of a kilometre on Tuesday afternoon, with heavy blowing snow reported at Trenton and Kingston with gusts near 40 km/h.
By 3 pm, Trenton had reported 12 cm of snowfall. In the region of the closure, an estimated 10 to 15 cm had fallen.
