Lac La Hache (Lake of the Axe) was apparently named for a French trader who lost his axe in this lake while ice fishing. There's another version of the story too according to BritishColumbia.com: 'a hapless Hudson's Bay Company mule that fell through the lake ice taking its loads of hatches with it.'Lac La Hache sports a museum (an old loghouse from the 1930s) Douglas fir and Aspen views campsites picnic sites swimming and boating. Anglers will enjoy the lake's kakanee and lake trout.This beach is not monitored nor do we have any data on it.
