Beach Conditions

Island View Beach stretches along a portion of the eastern coast of the Saanich Peninsula. The Regional Park is a good bird-watching area and the loop trail through the park provides many possibilities for seeing various plant and wildlife species. Along the long sandy beach digging for clams may be appealing for some individuals. Others however may simply enjoy the swimming and picnicking opportunities. It is only a 30-minute drive from Victoria and there is a boat launch near the entrance of the park for those who are itching to get out on the water. Dogs are not permitted on the beach from June to September.This site is sampled monthly from May to September.
