Parksville has more than 20 parks within 20 minutes of each other. There are beautiful nature trails to explore the lush forests a river gorge a mountain bike circuit and refreshing swimming holes. Wall Beach comprises park of the rocky shoreline that makes up Nanoose Bay near Parksville British Columbia. Wall Beach is a popular spot for scuba diving.During the summer in Parksville there is the Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition which dates back to 1982. You can view beautiful works of art as the competition is open to professional sculptors from around the world. The competition lasts for over three days. The summer is known as the “Beach Festival” months in Parksville. During these months Parksville hosts a car show kite show and impressive fireworks display.This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
