Bill moved to London in 2006 and became 'too comfortable' working in an office setting. He had an ephiphany about getting into better shape and cares about the water in Canada which he calls its greatest resource. After a volunteer surgery he used swimming for therapy and in 2010 decided he'd swim Okanagan Lake. He swam about 135km in two weeks. World record setter Ann Meraw now 94 (2011) has swam the Okanagan including a 32-hour 12 minute swim from Kelowna to Penticton.
