Beach Conditions

Parksville Beach can be accessed from a number of spots along the edge of the community. These include Doehle Street Sutherland Crescent McMillan Street Ruston Avenue and from the Community Park. At the park there is a waterfront walkway a tennis court a sand pit reserved for beach volleyball and a large children's playground and splash-park. There are also picnic tables a concession stand and public washroom facilities. A skateboard park is also present in the beachside park.The kilometres of sandy beach are very popular for swimmers sunbathers and sand castle builders and a number of grassy areas are more than suitable for those wishing to toss around a Frisbee or fly a kite!This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
