Beach Conditions

Kitty Coleman Provincial Park is on the south side of the Georgia Straight and this park supports all summer activities including fishing camping hiking boating and swimming. There are 900 meters of shoreline in the park and the amenities include picnic shelters pit toilets two boat launches hiking trails and nature-viewing. The eastern part of the park contains an old-growth Douglas fir estimated to be more than 500 years old.This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
