Beach Conditions
Kinkade Beach is a section of Qualicum Beach and is one of the best beaches to walk in the area. Qualicum Beach was first settled by the Kinkade Family in 1884. The Kinkade Farmstead is a small one-and-a-half story building locating on the border of the estuary of little Qualicum River. Its architectural elements are typical of homes built in the late 19th century. The Kinkade homestead has been designated a Federal Heritage Building.This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
