Beach Conditions

A popular area on Lake Cowichan is the beach at Gordon Bay Provincial Park. The park has picnic tables fire pits and washroom facilities. The sandy beach provides an area to relax and a log boom sections off the swimming area. The remainder of the lake is frequented by water-skiers windsurfers paddlers boaters and fisherman (as it is a popular spot for Cutthroat Rainbow and Dolly Varden Trout fishing). There are trails through the park’s forest one of the first forests to be logged on the island and now home to second-growth Douglas Fir.
