BC Parks Rebecca Spit Marine Park Short Term Forecast
Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park is a unique natural 2km sandy spit on the east side of Quadra Island. It overlooks Drew Harbour.Rebecca Spit is popular spot for beach exploring swimming fishing kayaking and picnicking. Facilities include pit toilets wheelchair accessible pit toilets a playing field a fresh water pump and picnic tables overlooking the beach. On the west side of the park near the parks entrance theres a boat launch ramp.Rebecca Spit Marine Park is known for its large accumulations of driftwood. The waters around Quadra Island are also known for cold- water scuba diving.This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
