Beach Conditions
Morton Lake is part of the provincial park by the same name and is tested for coliforms during the summer by the health authority. The park is famous for fishing rainbow trout cutthroat trout and dolly varden. The lake is also popular for swimming canoeing boating and sunbathing. Camping is permitted but full services may not be included.This lake provides access to the Sayward Canoue Route a 47-kilometer paddle and portage circuit.This beach is one of those beaches that will be measured 'as needed' by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. This means that the Vancouver Island Health Authority may keep the beaches open to swimmers despite the potential dangers to swimmers. Fraser Riverkeepers will always mark this beach with a grey rating (unless they begin to monitor the beach more frequently) to warn swimmers of potential dangers. When swimming in these waters always exercise caution.
