The lake’s name comes from a local volcanic plug that is partially treeless but with the ancient volcanic activity the lake has been provided with a pumice base that generates exceptional growing potential for the flora and fauna. The shoreline features a fairly shallow lake with many weed beds making it a home for very good rainbow fishery with trout sizes ranging from a half pound to eight pounds. It is an excellent location for dry fly fishing. There is a mild drop off from the shore of the lake on all sides with the exception of the northwest where a deep hole is located about 50 m. from the shore. Surrounding the shoreline is a home for an abundance of wildlife including moose deer bear beaver lynx cougar wolf otter and the majestic bald eagle.AMENITIES:Unknown.
