Tillicum Beach Park on Driedmeat Lake, AB
Tillicum Beach Park on Driedmeat Lake Short Term Forecast
Tillicum Beach is in the Tillicum Beach Campground and Day Use Area operated by the County of Camrose. The beach is sandy with a playground nearby and shallow waters for bathing in the swimming area. The water is usually clear with some weeds and some algae later in the Summer season. The beach is on Dried Meat Lake and is actually a part of the Battle River. The name comes from the fact the Cree Nation in the area made pemmican in the nearby hills that flourish with Saskatoon Berries. The beach area has all of the necessary amenities for a day trip or camping. Tillicum Beach had no AHS water quality health advisories for the whole of the 2011 2012 and 2013 bathing seasons.NOTE: We received a citizen report on July 19/2012 that Tillicum 'beach' sandy area is actually separated from the water by a lot of wild grass.
