Lake Annette and Lake Edith Beaches in Jasper National Park Short Term Forecast
Lake Annette Beach is quite simply one of most spectacular beach settings one can find. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains and close to the Town of Jasper you are close to all that you need and feel like a million miles away from everything. Except for amazing wildlife and majestic mountain views. The beach itself is sandy with a large grassy area and picninc tables to relax. The Lake is fed glacially and is referred to as a kettle (a depression created by a large piece of glacier being pressed into the earth by the material above it and melting with the receeding glacier). This means the lake is chilly and probably best wade in only on a hot day in July or August. The beach and lake are easy to access and you can check out the equally stunning smaller beach area at Lake Edith if you want more shade. It is only one parking lot away or a short walk. A day at either beach is one you will remember for a long time. The beaches and lakes were open for the whole of the 2011 bathing season and the lakes have historically excellent water quality testing results.Photo credit to Herz.
