Elk's Beach at Lac La Nonne Short Term Forecast
Elks beach is a privately run beach area with an area for day use and picnicing. Lac La Nonne is translated as 'Nun Lake' and has a history of being hypertrophic (lots of algae especially in July August). The beach is well-maintained with a playground area. The water frontage is weedy and shallow. The Lac La Nonne Stewardship Group is one of the best in Alberta and they have been undertaking a number a watershed research and land management proposals to improve the state of the watershed. There is a boat launch adjacent to the beach.
