Beach Conditions

Aspen Beach on Gull Lake is a very popular beach for day-trippers and campers. The beach is sandy and flat with very shallow waters for bathing. The beach is easy to access from Highway 2 and the waters are very typical of a Central Alberta lake. This is a long beach with a playground and other amenities for a day trip or camping including a playground full washrooms/changerooms and concession. Bring an umbrella as shade is at a premium. Aspen Beach Provincial Park was one of the first provinicial parks in Alberta. The beach is easy to access for the adjacent parking lot. This beach was open for the whole 2011 2012 bathing seasons with no health advisories posted. Historically good water quality. There was a brief advisory for blue-green algae posted in August 2013 but lifted after one week.
