This emergency advisory alert is being issued for the province of Saskatchewan. All travelers returning from outside of Canada are subject to a mandatory 14 day self isolation order. Violation of the order may result in a fine of 2000 dollars.

Summary

The first warm spell of the season will encompass most of Saskatchewan today and Tuesday.

Daytime high temperatures today over most of southern Saskatchewan will be hovering near the 30 degree mark. On Tuesday a cold front will track across the northwestern grainbelt bringing cooler temperatures to these areas. Over the remainder of southern Saskatchewan hot temperatures will prevail again however the approaching cold front will generate widespread showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening before exiting into Manitoba. Cooler temperatures are in store in its wake for all regions by Wednesday.

Heat warning criteria is not expected to be met with these temperatures but nevertheless this will be the first warm spell of the season.
