Heat Warning

Issued at 04:40 Tuesday 15 June 2021
Summary

Very warm temperatures to start the week.

Building heat over the western Prairies will bring one more day of high temperatures in the 30s to parts of Saskatchewan. The forecast temperatures are about 10 degrees warmer than seasonal normals and may break high temperature records.

A cold front will move across the province tonight, bringing a risk of thunderstorms followed by relief from the heat as temperatures drop back to more seasonal values.

###

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Please call HealthLine 811 for advice on health risks, symptoms and precautions associated with heat.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to SKstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #SKStorm.
