Special Air Quality Statement

Issued at 14:01 Friday 23 July 2021

Smoke is causing poor air quality and reducing visibility. Smoke is expected or occurring.

Smoke from wild fires in BC is moving into southwestern Saskatchewan. As a result poor air quality can be expected locally in areas with dense smoke. Conditions will improve later this weekend when winds shift to southeasterly.

Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.

Please call HealthLine 811 for advice on health risks, symptoms and precautions associated with air quality.

Visit for information on how to reduce your health risk and your personal contribution to pollution levels, as well as for current and forecast AQHI values.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
