Winter Storm Watch

Issued at 11:25 Tuesday 25 February 2020
Summary

A major low pressure system from the United States will affect Western and Southwestern Quebec beginning Wednesday afternoon.

This system will bring heavy snow to these areas with amounts in excess of 25 centimetres or even 35 centimetres over some areas.

Poor travelling conditions can be expected due to low visibility and rapidly accumulating snow on roads. Consider changing your travel plans.

More detailed information will be issued in the next few hours as the system's track becomes more certain.

###

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
