Alerts in Effect
Special Weather StatementIssued at 22:16 Friday 03 December 2021
Winter storm to kick off the week.
A system from Colorado will move into Western Quebec late in the day on Sunday and reach eastern parts of the province on Monday morning. Precipitation will begin as snow, especially over areas north of the St. Lawrence River, before changing over to rain. There will be a risk of freezing rain during the transition. As a result, the largest snowfall amounts are expected north of the St. Lawrence beginning Sunday evening and into the overnight hours. Strong winds and blowing snow are also possible with this storm.
For now, the exact track of the low pressure system remains uncertain. Forecast precipitation types and amounts will depend on this track.
Travel could be significantly impacted.
