Winter storm to kick off the week.
A system from Colorado will move into Western Quebec late in the day on Sunday and reach eastern parts of the province on Monday morning. Precipitation will begin as snow, especially over areas north of the St. Lawrence River, before changing over to rain. There will be a risk of freezing rain during the transition. As a result, the largest snowfall amounts are expected north of the St. Lawrence beginning Sunday night. Snowfall amounts could exceed 25 centimetres over these areas. Strong winds and blowing snow are also possible with this storm.
Forecast precipitation types and amounts will become more certain as the event draws nearer and warnings will be issued as needed.
Travel could be significantly impacted.
