Snow Squall WarningIssued at 17:45 Wednesday 29 March 2023
Periods of sometimes heavy snow are expected this evening. Visibilities in snow squalls will be greatly reduced due to heavy snow and blowing snow.
As the cold front passes, temperatures will rapidly drop to below the freezing mark and may create icy road conditions.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
Snow squall warnings are issued when brief but intense bursts of heavy snow will produce near zero visibilities.
