Summary

A winter storm with snow, blowing snow, freezing rain and high winds is expected

Total snowfall: 30 to 40 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: 100 km/h.

Locations: Prince Edward Island.

The mixture of snow and ice pellets will changeover to showers in eastern regions and then taper off overnight. Strong winds and snow and blowing snow will redevelop late overnight into Sunday morning. Visibility will be near zero at times late this morning through the afternoon hours. Road closures are possible. Strong northeasterly winds may also cause utility outages.

Falling temperatures on Sunday morning will cause any standing water to freeze.

Conditions are expected to improve on Sunday.

###

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
