Rain and wind on Thursday...more rain on Friday
An intense low pressure system will track towards the region on Thursday. Rain and wind will begin Thursday afternoon and persist into the evening. Additionally, easterly wind gusts of 70 km/h or higher are likely. Higher than normal water levels and rough surf is also possible near high tide along the north coast Thursday evening.
Indications are that the rain will taper to showers later Thursday night. Then on Friday as the low tracks across the Gulf of St. Lawrence, more rain is expected. Total rainfall amounts from Thursday afternoon to Friday evening of 20 to 40 mm are expected.
