Wind Warning

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

An intense low pressure system over New England will approach the Maritimes today and cross the region on Friday. A band of very strong easterly winds gusting to 90 km/h along with heavy rain will spread across Prince Edward Island this afternoon.

Winds will diminish early this evening and become southerly.


Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
