Weather Advisory

Issued at 12:17 Wednesday 29 March 2023

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this afternoon.

Hazard:
Reduced visibility in heavy wet snow.
Slippery conditions due to wet roads and rapidly falling temperatures.

Timing:
This afternoon.

Discussion:
A sharp cold front will move through southern Ontario today bringing a burst of heavy wet snow. Wind along the front may gust as high as 70 km/h. This combination of snow and strong winds may create a period of challenging driving conditions. Local snowfall amounts of 1 or 2 cm are possible. In addition, a sudden drop in temperature in the wake of the cold front could cause roads, sidewalks and parking lots to become slippery.
