Snow Squall Warning

Issued at 20:52 Monday 24 January 2022

Snow squalls are occurring. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Lake effect snow off of Lake Huron, with local snowfall accumulations of 15 to 30 cm expected by Tuesday night.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour are possible.
Visibility will be significantly reduced due to heavy snow and blowing snow.

Now through Tuesday evening.

Snow squalls may persist until Tuesday evening

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
