Winter Storm WarningIssued at 17:36 Monday 17 January 2022
Winter storm conditions continue this evening.
Total snowfall amounts of 40 to 60 cm.
Local blowing snow due to winds gusting up to 60 km/h which will significantly reduce visibility.
When: This evening.
Discussion: A low pressure system tracking south of the Great Lakes has brought significant snowfall to the region. The snow is expected to taper off this evening. Local blowing snow is also possible this evening with gusty northerly to northwesterly winds.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Road closures are possible. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
