Snowfall WarningIssued at 18:30 Saturday 18 January 2020
Snowfall with amounts near 20 cm expected today.
Snow, at times heavy will continue this evening, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected.
Southeasterly winds gusting to 50 km/h will whip up the freshly fallen snow causing low visibilities at times in blowing snow this evening.
Additionally, cold arctic air is expected to make a return to the region tonight allowing lake effect snow to develop and persist through Sunday. The lake effect snow is expected to provide additional snowfall accumulations to some communities tonight and through Sunday.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
