Snow Squall Watch

Issued at 11:04 Saturday 22 January 2022

Snow squalls expected to develop this evening.

Heavy lake effect snow. Local snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 cm possible by Sunday afternoon.
Significantly reduced visibility due to locally heavy snow and blowing snow.

This evening to Sunday afternoon.

Snow squalls will develop this evening with the passage of a cold front. The snow squalls are expected to weaken on Sunday afternoon as winds shift to northerly.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
