Summary

Potentially significant rainfall is expected early in the week.

Locations: Most of mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island.

Time span: starting in the morning on Monday in western Nova Scotia and spreading eastward throughout the day. Rain is expected to taper off early on Tuesday.

Remarks: There is still some uncertainty with regards to the track of this system, but current guidance would indicate widespread 30 to 50 mm with the potential for localized higher amounts. Over northwestern Nova Scotia a prolonged period of snow could precede the rain and impact transportation in some areas. Freezing rain is also likely for a brief period over parts of central Nova Scotia. Rainfall warnings may be issued with subsequent forecasts.
