Significant snowfall expected beginning early Sunday.
Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm for St. John's and vicinity and Avalon Peninsula Southeast, 7 to 12 cm for Avalon Peninsula North and Avalon Peninsula Southwest.
Maximum wind gusts: 60 km/h or higher.
Locations: Avalon Peninsula.
Time span: early Sunday morning until Sunday afternoon.
Remarks: A low pressure system will track southeast of the Avalon Peninsula on Sunday. Snow will spread across the Avalon Peninsula early Sunday morning along with moderate north to northeasterly winds giving blowing snow over exposed areas. Conditions will improve Sunday afternoon.
A slight shift in the track of the storm could have a big impact on the expected snowfall amounts.
