Heavy rain and strong winds are expected Saturday night and Sunday.
Total rainfall: 15 to 25 mm, except possibly exceeding 50 mm along the south coast.
Maximum wind gusts: 80 to 100 km/h. Stronger coastal gusts possible.
Locations: eastern Newfoundland.
Remarks: Precipitation may initially fall as snow for some areas late in the day on Saturday before quickly changing to rain, at times heavy, Saturday evening. The rain is expected to taper off through the day on Sunday.
The rain will be accompanied by strong southerly winds and mild temperatures Saturday night and Sunday, causing significant snow melt and localized flooding.
