Rain, at times heavy, and high-elevation snow are expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Total rainfall: near 30 mm.
Total snowfall: 10 to 15 cm (inland and over higher terrain).
Locations: Labrador Straits.
Time span: this morning until this evening.
Remarks: Precipitation will begin as rain over all areas, and then transition to snow, at times heavy, inland and over higher terrain, before eventually ending as snow over all locations as temperatures turn colder.
Significant snowmelt and runoff may occur.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Be prepared for winter conditions at higher elevations.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
