Snow Squall Warning
Issued at 17:40 Wednesday 03 March 2021Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Total snowfall: locally up to 15 cm in snow squalls.
Maximum wind gusts: southwesterly 60 to 80 km/h.
Locations:
Burin Peninsula - north of Marystown.
Avalon southwest - north of Argentia.
Avalon southeast - north of Colinet.
St. Johns's and vicinty - north of Bay Bulls.
Avalon Peninsula North - near Holyrood.
Time span: continuing this evening.
Remarks: The squall will likely reach the metro area this evening.
