Snow Squall WatchIssued at 23:31 Saturday 07 December 2019
Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Possible snowfall amounts: up to 15 cm in snow squalls.
Location: Corner Brook to Port aux Basques.
Time span: this evening to Sunday afternoon.
Remarks: Onshore flurries and occasional snow squalls are expected to persist until Sunday afternoon. Poor visibilities can be expected within the snow squalls.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
