Winter Storm WarningIssued at 05:19 Friday 24 March 2023
Snow, strong winds, and blowing snow are expected.
Total snowfall: 15 to 25 cm (highest over elevated terrain).
Maximum wind gusts: northeasterly 80 km/h.
Locations: Bonavista Peninsula, Terra Nova, and Clarenville and vicinity.
Time span: late this afternoon until Saturday afternoon.
Remarks: Strong winds in conjunction with fresh snowfall will cause poor visibilities in blowing snow. The blowing snow is expected to subside as temperatures rise above zero on Saturday morning.
Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
