Winter Storm Warning

Summary

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Total snowfall: 30 to 40 cm

Maximum wind gusts: 80 to 90 km/h

Location: Northeastern New Brunswick

Time span: Thursday afternoon and Thursday night

Snow, heavy at times, will begin Thursday afternoon in northeastern New Brunswick. Strong easterly to northeasterly winds will also develop Thursday afternoon and will combine with the fresh snowfall to reduce visibility at times in blowing snow. Snowfall rates will taper off on Friday morning. Total snowfall accumulations of 30 to 40 cm are expected.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
