Rainfall Warning

Issued at 15:43 Monday 30 November 2020

Rain, at times heavy, and significant snow melt are expected.

Total rainfall amount: 40 to 60 mm, possibly higher in areas of heaviest rain.

Location: Northwest New Brunswick.

Time span: this evening through Wednesday morning.

Remarks: A slow moving, intense low pressure system will move into New England tonight and into southern Quebec on Wednesday. Rain ahead of this system will begin this evening and become heavy at times tonight. Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected before rain gradually ends Wednesday morning. Mild temperatures accompanying the rain will cause significant or total melting of the existing snow pack.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
