Ontario: Widespread soaking rain and thunderstorms slow commute times

Rain and wind on Thursday.
An intense low pressure system will track towards the region on Thursday. Rain and wind will begin over southwestern sections of the province in the morning and reach the northeast by afternoon. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are expected but local amounts may be higher. Additionally, easterly wind gusts of 70 km/h or higher are likely and may near warning criteria of 90 km/h for exposed areas. Higher than normal water levels and rough surf is also possible along the Bay of Chaleur coast near high tide Thursday evening.
