Strong westerly winds today gusting up to 80 km/h.
An intense low pressure system over the northeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence will cause very strong westerly winds today. These winds are expected to gust up to 80 km/h but could possibly reach warning criteria of 90 km/h in some areas. Winds should weaken somewhat this afternoon as the system moves off to the northeast.
